How it Works

In developing E-seaP, the prisons that participated in the first year worked with us to ensure that the assessment framework is fit for purpose across a wide variety of prison contexts. In general practice the process commences with a prison making the decision to improve their performance on energy sustainability and registering to E-seaP (online or through one of the local delivery organisations) as a framework to support this.

Using our online tool (or through your local delivery team) it is recommended to make a baseline assessment of the establishment to inform decisions about the ambition for improvement and progress. The next step is to analyse your results and formulate an action plan of improvements. Our resources can help but it is recommended to employ expertise to help you identify the best and most practical plan for your establishment. Your local E-seaP delivery team will be happy to help and can also provide additional support, mentoring, advice and information on local financing to help you make progress towards a formal assessment.

When the establishment is satisfied with their progress and has their range of evidence in place they can submit for a formal assessment from their local E-seaP delivery team who will take them through the assessment process.
